Dr. Uqbah Iqbal is a Socioeconomic Researcher at Research for Social Advancement. Winning Second Place in Malaysian Historical Essay Writing Competition 2013, he was the recipient of Research University Fellowship Scheme, Graduate on Time Award and Outstanding Student Award from Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities as well as the Youngest Ph.D. in History Holder and the only Malaysian achieved a Ph.D. in History in conjunction with the 43rd Convocation of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He's authoring notable books/ebooks such as The Historical Development of the Malay Nationalism Before Independence, The Historical Development of the Malay Society Economic Nature During Pre-Colonial Era, The Historical Development of British Investment in Malaya Before the Second World War, The Historical Development of Foreign Investment in the Formation of the Malaysian Economy and Sejarah Pemikiran Pandang Ke Timur: Kepentingan Jepun Dalam Pembangunan Sosio-Ekonomi Malaysia (1906-1980). Prof. Emeritus Radu Mutihac is Chair of Medical Physics Section, University of Bucharest, and works in Neuroscience, Signal Processing, Microelectronics, and Artificial Intelligence. As postdoc/research associate/visiting professor/full professor he has run his research at the University of Bucharest, International Centre for Theoretical Physics (Italy), Ecole Polytechnique (France), Institut Henri Poincaré (France), KU Leuven (Belgium). Data mining and exploratory analysis of neuroimaging time series were addressed during two Fulbright Grants in Neuroscience (Yale University, CT, and University of New Mexico, NM, USA). His research in fused biomedical imaging modalities was carried out at the Johns Hopkins University, National Institutes of Health, and Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, MD, USA. Since 2008, Prof. Mutihac has been nominated PhD student supervisor in the field of Physics at the University of Bucharest, Romania. Prof. Mutihac is member of the ISMRM, ESMRMB, OHBM, Romanian US Alumni Association, and fellow of Signal Processing and Neural Networks Society IEEE, as well as referee for several journals of the Institute of Physics (London, UK), Neural Networks (Elsevier), IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, and evaluator/expert for the ISMRM, OHBM, ARACIS, CNCSIS, UEFISCDI, The Romanian – U.S. Fulbright Commission, and the European Commission (FP7, H2020). Prof. Mutihac published over 120 scientific papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals, 12 monographs, and contributed with chapters in other 10 textbooks published by renowned scientific publishing houses. He participated in more than 150 scientific meetings with posters and oral presentations, seminars, invited and plenary lectures, as well as acting as member of the organizing committees, special session organizer, chairperson, and keynote speaker. Dr. Jackalina M. Van Kampen is currently Director of Preclinical Research at Neurodyn Inc. as well as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biomedical Science. She came to Neurodyn from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine where she held the position of Assistant Professor of Molecular Neuroscience. Parkinson’s disease has been the main thrust of her career, beginning with graduate training under the supervision of Dr. A. Jon Stoessl, Director of the Pacific Parkinson’s Research Centre, and continuing through postdoctoral training with Dr. Harold Robertson, Research Director and co-founder of the Brain Repair Centre. She has established a research program focused primarily on neuroprotection and neuronal recovery in models of neurodegenerative disease and currently holds a CIHR grant, studying the neruorestorative potential of adult neurogenesis in a rodent model of Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Van Kampen has also been working with Neurodyn to develop novel neuroprotective therapies for various neurological conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and ALS.

George Perry(Biography)
Dr. George Perry is currently the dean of the College of Sciences and professor of biology at the University of Texas at San Antonio. After graduation in Zoology from University of California, Santa Barbara, he headed to Scripps Institution of Oceanography and also studied at Hopkins Marine Station of Stanford University and the Marine Biological Laboratory of Woods Hole and obtained his PhD in Marine Biology in 1979. Dr. Perry joined the faculty of Case Western Reserve University in 1995, where he currently holds an adjunct appointment. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences, Microscopy Society of America, Royal Society of Medicine, Royal Society of Chemistry, Society of Biology and the Linnean Society and past-president of the American Association of Neuropathologists. He has been elected member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Sciences, Mexican Academy of Sciences and Academy of Sciences Lisbon; Iberoamerican Molecular Biology Organization, Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives and won the Distinguished Professional Mentor Award from the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science, Senior Investigator Award from the International College of Geriatric psychoneuropharmacology, Senior Fulbright Fellow and the National Honor Plaque of Panama for exceptional contributions to Neuroscience. Dr. Perry is on Board of the National Organization of Portuguese Americans and serves as Director of Education and Research.

Professor WK Tang was appointed to professor in the Department of Psychiatry, the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2011. Professor Tang completed his medical training at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He joined the Chinese University of Hong Kong as an academic staff since 1999. His main research area is Neuropsychiatry in Stroke. Professor Tang has published over 100 papers in renowned journals, and has also contributed to the peer review of 40 journals. He has secured over 20 major competitive research grants. He has served the editorial boards of five scientific journals. Dr.Burton M. Altura is currently working as a Professor of Physiology, Pharmacology & Medicine State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. He completed his PhD from Newyork University School of Medicine. He published many articles. Dr. Burton M. Altura studies address the two most important issues in vascular biology today: stroke mechanisms; and irreversible cellular destruction in the cardiovascular system caused by alcohol and substance abuse. These studies have already led to the prevention of atherosclerotic lesions, hypertension and stroke-like events in experimental animal models.
