Dr. Stella Karantzoulis is the founder of Modern Brain Center, offering modern clinical neuropsychological services to a wide range of individuals with suspected or known disorders of the central nervous system. Dr. Karantzoulis has extensive expertise in diagnosing and managing Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's, traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, seizure disorders, and learning disorders at all levels. Dr. Karantzoulis' clinical and research interests focus on the early identification of Alzheimer's disease (e.g., mild cognitive impairment and pre-clinical phases) and the development of novel therapeutic approaches in this population. Her clinical practice specializes in the neuropsychological evaluation of memory disorders, dementia, and other neurobehavioral syndromes (including epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumor). She is one of the few board-certified clinical neuropsychologists in New York to offer individualized as well as group-oriented approaches to memory intervention. Dr. Karantzoulis obtained her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In 2006, Dr. Karantzoulis completed a pre-doctoral internship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, followed by a 2-year clinical post-doctoral residency in the Department of Neurology, Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, at New York University Langone Medical Center (NYULMC).
